The Gospel of John – 1/28/24
Water is a powerful and beautiful thing. Throughout scripture, we see water used to bring life and death. God uses water for creation and also destruction. God also shows us time and time again that he is the ruler of all things, and the wind and the waves are always at his command.
It’s no coincidence that Jesus also uses water as a metaphorical tool often in the Gospels. In fact, water is a recurring theme in the first seven chapters of the book of John! Jesus, a master storyteller, uses water and Old Testament illustrations to show us how critical the “living water” he offers us is for our daily spiritual life.
This Sunday we will open our Bibles to John 4 and dive into the beautiful story of the Woman at the Well.
