The Gospel and Work
We are a people of stories. Regardless of your personality, ideals, faith, gender, or ethnicity, all people make sense of life through the lens of a story. It is part of being human. So, when it comes to your work, what kind of story do you tell yourself? Are you the hero or the villain? Are you the protagonist or the antagonist?
Without an understanding of the gospel story and our part in it, we will look to our work with naïve utopianism or cynical disillusionment. We will demonize something that isn’t bad enough to explain the mess we are in; and we will be idolizing something that isn’t powerful enough to get us out of it. The Christian story is uniquely defined by truth, beauty, and goodness to make sense of our calling to work on the mission of God.
Don’t miss this Sunday as we unpack the hope of the gospel narrative in our work.
