Redemptive Reversals 4
Tim Armitage   -

Have you ever pursued downward mobility? Meaning, have you ever had life goals to become less wealthy? Have you ever pursued a demotion at work? Maybe you’ve hired a physical fitness coach to become less healthy? Of course not! None of those things even make sense to us. So, when we read things like, “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10), we don’t know what to think.

Because God’s ways are not our ways, we find the Christian life full of ironies. Weakness is one of those ironies. Jesus repeatedly tells his followers the path to fullness and flourishing lies in setting aside what you believe makes you strong and letting the Holy Spirit fill you with his strength. Investing in our own strength actually limits our capabilities and joy.

Join us this Sunday to see how we are designed to set down our perceived strengths and move forward in weakness.
