1 Corinthians 9
Freedom is an incredibly attractive word and concept. We want to be free. We want others to be free. We even love it when things are free! Ironically, however, we often find ourselves in pursuit of more freedom—in our work, relationships, and even theology.
It is at the question of freedom that we pick up the conversation in 1 Corinthians 9. Questions like, “What is freedom, and how do we live in real freedom?” challenged the Corinthians, just as they do us. Paul’s answer to the Corinthians—and to us—paints a picture of Jesus that is both liberating and reassuring.
