1 Corinthians 7
Vernon Armitage   -

Paul’s letter to the Corinthians is very relevant today. Corinth was a prosperous, cosmopolitan city with a reputation for luxury, wealth, and moral decay. Paul is writing from Ephesus, having learned of the challenges in the Corinthian church from some of “Chloe’s people” who had visited him, as well as from letters sent by the Corinthians themselves. Paul had been very straightforward in confronting their problems of quarrels, immorality, and sin.

This Sunday, we will unpack chapter 7, which turns the corner to have Paul answer some of their specific questions. We will focus on four issues he addresses—celibacy, marriage, divorce, and circumcision. This is just the beginning of the questions Paul addresses in the remainder of his letter. Get ready to hear what the Spirit may say to you during this Q&A session on 1 Corinthians 7.
