Proverbs – May 26, 2024
Tim Armitage   -

Children have irrational fears. It is simply part of being a child. But often, adults have irrational fears too. Chronic irrational fears have a name we have become all too familiar with: Anxiety. Anxiety is an irrational fear focused on what might happen in the future. The Bible speaks directly to our fears in a way that is liberating.

The book of Proverbs is purposed to provide wisdom that helps us face the future confidently, trusting in God’s promises. However, the poet presents what seems to be a contradiction: it teaches that the only way to move forward without fear is by living in the fear of the Lord. Join us this Sunday as we gather to untangle the fears that lead to anxiety from the fear of the Lord that leads to thriving.
