Thinking About Being Strong
We continue this Sunday with the third Beatitude. First was Blessed are the poor in spirit – those who realize they are spiritually bankrupt and turn to God. The second was Blessed are those who mourn – those who genuinely grieve for their sin and find comfort in being forgiven. The third is Blessed are the meek. The dictionary defines meek as gentle, easily imposed on, and submissive. In other words, a nice person. Is that what Jesus was talking about? Not hardly. Don’t miss this Sunday as we unpack what Jesus meant by “the meek” and they shall “inherit the earth.”
