Thinking About Grief
Every one of us has a story. And each of our stories has moments of heartache and sadness. Divorce, job loss, broken relationships, rejection, a terminal diagnosis, abuse, infertility. If you are in one of these moments, it is likely all you can see. But Jesus has made us a promise. Jesus has declared that “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4) This Sunday we dive into the counter-cultural truth of the 2nd Beatitude. We look to Jesus for what we do not have and find in him everything we lack.
