Greetings E-news Friends,

Jesus Cares for the Prominent and the Poor
We never meet a person that does not matter to Jesus. It is a reflection of his nature and character. In this next installment on the Gospel of Mark we will look at two events that happened side-by-side. Jesus changed the life of a very prominent person in the community and the life of a very poor women who had been suffering for twelve years. You will be inspired by the message of these two events in history. Bring a friend who needs to hear an encouraging word.

Nativity Scene
Christmas time is the season for lights. They are on our homes, on the street, and in the shopping centers. Most of the light have no message. They simply wow us with their glowing colors.

This evening at Briarcliff you will see lights come on that have a message. A very attractive nativity scene will come on that will attract thousands of passers-by with the message of Christmas--the birth of our Savior. This nativity scene has been donated to us by a Briarcliff member. If you are in the area this evening, drive by and take a look. Pray it will help people stop and reflect on the meaning of Christmas.

Announcing Two New Board Members
The board was unanimous in the meeting last week in presenting Todd Norris and Michael Stoker as new board members. Michael has served on our church board before and, after rotating off for one year, has agreed to serve again. He is on our worship team and works as an administrator of Hospice. He and his wife Ronda have five children. Todd Norris is a leader in our Briarcliff Kids and owns a business that serves adults who are developmentally delayed.  He and his wife Lori have three children.

If you have questions or concerns, let us know in the next 30 days. They will begin their three year term on the board on January 1, 2019. We are extremely grateful for the service of Ron Booth and Dennis Pruessner who will be rotating off the board at the end of this year.

Christmas Dance Performance, December 8, 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM
Each performance is beautifully provided by Studio 10.  All the proceeds from this event will help fund the missions of Hillcrest at Avondale. This is a life-changing ministry that helps people who are homeless. It provides transitional housing and training to help them successfully get on their feet and live a productive life. Tickets for this event will be available this Sunday. This  is a great opportunity to invite unchurched friends, so plan to purchase a ticket for them and have them join you. There will be two shows, 5:00 and 7:00 PM.
