Greetings E-news Friends,

The Kingdom of God

After Jesus was tempted for 40 days in the wilderness, he “began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”’ [Matthew 4:17]. He was greatly misunderstood in the kingdom he was establishing. They envisioned a kingdom that would overthrow Rome, but Jesus had an eternal kingdom in mind. What does that kingdom look like and how can we be a part of it? Jesus gave three stories to illustrate it and we will find that we are a part of the stories. We will look at that in the next installment of this series in the Gospel of Mark.

Board Nomination

Each year we select two new Briarcliff Board members and two rotate off.  You may nominate a potential board member between November 4-11, 2018. The first step will be to read the Covenant for Board Members. Next, ask the person you want to nominate to read the Covenant and complete the form if they agree to being nominated. Ask them to drop the form in the box in the lobby on or before 2:00 PM November 11, 2018.

Operation Christmas Child
We had a great packing party on October 13 and packed 1,400 shoeboxes.  Thanks to everyone who donated items, made jump ropes, prepared for the packing party, packed boxes and/or helped with shipping costs.  In case there are people who would like to pack individual boxes, there will be OCC boxes available this Sunday in the lobby. They would need to be returned the week of November 12-19.  Thanks!

Lansing Prison Ministry

The December 7 Christmas Banquet at the Lansing Correctional Facility is an event for Christian inmates to gather with their families, celebrate God, and mend relationships with their loved ones.  As a special blessing, each Christian inmate is allowed to give his child a gift. Last year, Briarcliff Church donated all of these wonderful gifts and we are once again calling upon the charitable hearts of our church to donate them again.  To find out more about why and how you can help, pleaseclick here.

Part-Time Custodial Position

An opening for part-time custodial position is available beginning December 1, 2018.

If interested, please click here to find the application. Please drop off your completed application at the church anytime Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. You will be notified regarding the receipt of your application and the next steps.

Briarcliff Village Lighting Ceremony
Briarcliff Church consistently impacts our community.  We have the opportunity to assist the Briarcliff Village with their Christmas Lighting Ceremony.  The event will be on November 10 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It will be held within the Briarcliff Village Shops area.  Please help us connect with the community at this event by signing up to volunteerHERE.

Small Groups
Our mission at Briarcliff is to share the gospel, grow in community and serve others in a way that glorifies God. Small groups are a major part of growing in community. Most of our groups are partnering with the messages on Mark. This will be a meaningful and life-changing experience. Don’t miss this opportunity to grow in community. You can find out more HERE.
