Greetings E-news Friends,
One of the best-known and perhaps most beloved Psalms in the world is Psalm 23. This Sunday we want to walk through this chapter, verse by verse, and see how it can guide us in praying. The prayers in Psalms will inspire and teach us how to pray more effectively. Nothing will prepare us more for the great things God has in mind for us. This can be a life changing experience. Don’t miss this Sunday as we unpack and pray Psalm 23.
Praying the Psalms Prayer Guide
To follow up on the message this Sunday, read Psalm 23:1-6 each day next week. Then use the prayer guide to focus on just one verse each day. Let it guide you in praying. This will be a very helpful experience that will lead you to greater depths of praying. You can find the prayer guide here.
Praying For Those at the Easter Festival
We have a team of people calling those who attended the Easter Festival and praying with them. It is deeply moving to hear some of the needs in their lives. This may open the door to greater opportunities for impacting our community but, for now, the greatest thing is to pray.
Our next prayer Breakfast will be May 18th. It will be a meaningful time of food, fellowship and praying. This is what Tim Keller says in his book on prayer. “Prayer is the only entryway into genuine self-knowledge. It is also the main way we experience deep change—the reordering of our loves. Prayer is how God gives us so many of the unimaginable things he has for us. Indeed, prayer makes it safe for God to give us many of the things we most desire. It is the way we know God, the way we finally treat God as God. Prayer is simply the key to everything we need to do and be in life.” So why would you not want to attend the prayer breakfast? Sign up here.
Food Collection This Sunday is food collection day. Keep it in mind when you shop this week. Pick up some extra items to share with others in need.
Mark your calendars for a night of worship on Sunday evening, June 9th. Our worship team will be joined by worship leader and musician John Brewer for a unique and unforgettable evening of worship, prayer and community as we walk out the teaching of Praying the Psalms.
