Greetings E-news Friends,
Learning More About Prayer
This summer we are focusing on opportunities to grow in our walk with Christ that are based on responses in the Personal Disciple Plan inventory (PDP). This Sunday we will look at prayer. Most everyone around the world prays. According to a Pew Research Center survey, more than half (55%) of Americans say they pray every day. The survey also found that 6% of atheist pray every day and 11% pray weekly or monthly.
Prayer is an indispensable part of growing as a disciple of Jesus Christ. It is also critical in a church moving forward. Get ready to learn more this Sunday.
Operation Christmas Child (OCC)
One of the ways to describe Briarcliff Church is ‘generous’! To pack 1400 shoe boxes that will share the gospel around the world is definitely ‘generous’! The month of July we are collecting school supplies (crayons, pencils, pens, erasers). As you shop for each item, please pray over it and receive a great blessing. We also still need...
1324 solid-colored T-shirts (S,M and L)
429 Match Box cars
Is summer a good time to reach out to people not in church? YES! By all means! Summer is an excellent time to build relationships with those who seldom attend church. It is also a great time for your small group to engage in fellowship (also inviting unchurched to join you).
Here are just some thoughts to consider for your group:
1. Have a potluck meal and invite unchurched friends (not asking them to provide anything)
2. Check out the T-Bone games and invite friends to join you. http://www.tbonesbaseball.com
3. Serve breakfast one Saturday at City Union Mission with your group. Invite an unchurched friend to join you. Many times they are more likely to serve at a mission before they would attend church.http://briarcliff.church/city-union-mission/
