Greetings E-news Friends,

“You shall teach them diligently”

Moses knew the survival of the people moving into the Promised Land filled with enemies depended on their teaching the children diligently. He gave them three unchanging principles for teaching children that have not changed  through the centuries. They are still true today and our survival continues to depend on those three principles. What are they? Come Sunday and find out as we continue our study on “From the Inside Out.”

Briarcliff Kids

God has abundantly  blessed us with exponential growth in Briarcliff Kids, Nursery – Grade 5. We have the opportunity to partner with parents in diligently discipling the children. Don’t miss the opportunity to volunteer in Briarcliff KIds.  Three opportunities in Nursery/Preschool and two  in K-5.   We are opening a new baby room on February 4.  Additionally we have  the opportunity for you to serve as a Kindergarten teacher at either 9:00 am or 10:45.    opportunities here.

Giving Statements

The giving statements were mailed out this past Tuesday. Let us know if you do not receive yours.

We continue to move forward in a phenomenal way through your generosity. Your giving in 2017 was up 55% over 2016. This includes your giving to the building fund and the $50,000 challenge. Your continued generosity will allow us to move forward without debt in the building renovations and parking expansion.

This is a great revelation of your heart. Jesus said, “where your treasure is,there your heart will be also.” Thank you for the heart you have for the Lord and His work at Briarcliff.

Missions information meeting

We are in the process of expanding our mission effort beyond the walls of our church and community. One international trip to Haiti  is in the making for this summer. If you would like to know more about this trip and where we are headed in the future,  plan to attend the upcoming Mission Information Meeting on February 11, 12:00 PM in the Training Room.

Small Groups

This is a great time to join a small group. Many of the groups are beginning new studies. We have groups that meet at the church and throughout the week in homes. Take a look.

Take a look at what others are saying about small groups, click here.

Financial Peace University (FPU)

There are three more open spots in FPU. The course began last week but their will be a review that will help get started with everyone else in this  9-week course. It meets Sunday at 10:30 AM, in the Training Room located on  the Lower Level. You will need to register before Sunday so, Register here.

Exploring Faith

We will open this group again on February 11, at 4:30 PM. It is designed for people who are not sure about God, the bible, Jesus, eternity, purpose of life, or the question of suffering. If you have a friend who is skeptical about Christianity, invite them to come with you. The objective of our time together will be to lead people in thinking through what they believe, why they believe and on what they base their beliefs.  Register here for you and your friend(s).

Prayer Teams

There are still opportunities to be a part of a prayer team the first, second or third Sunday of the month. Each team meets at 8:00 AM for thirty minutes once a month. Register now to be a part of an indispensable part of our church.

Food Collection

The first Sunday of each month we bring canned goods for those in need. Thanks for your faithful generosity. See you Sunday with your non-perishable food items.

Blessings,

Vernon
