Greetings E-news Friends,

New Year’s Resolutions

Are you making any New Year’s resolutions? How long do you think your resolutions will last? Research indicates that most resolutions have dissolved within the first two months in the new year.  There was one man who made a resolution and it did not fade but was fully accomplished. His name? Jesus. This Sunday we will look at his resolution and find help in setting and keeping our personal resolutions. This will be a great way to start the new year.

A Great Christmas Eve Service

What an evening it was!! The joy of Christmas filled our packed auditorium. Many of our Briarcliff Kids (nearly 40) filled the stage with music and joy. It is hard to believe that most of the children have started coming to Briarcliff in just the last two years.

It was evident you had been praying and inviting friends. For the last two weeks we have been posting names of unchurched people on the front wall of the auditorium and praying. The result was seen with the number of unchurched guests who attended the service. We are in for an incredible year in 2019 as we continue to care, pray and invite unchurched friends.

2018

This year is drawing its last breath but the new life of 2019 is about to explode with new adventures and opportunities. We have seen the hand of God at work in our church in amazing ways. Lives have been radically changed. Many new faces at Briarcliff have become familiar ones. Briarcliff Kids has quadrupled. New leadership has been effectively moving ministries forward. Faithful volunteers have put in hundreds and hundreds of hours that have made a significant difference. Renovations on our building have all been done without debt.

The year ahead is about to burst forth with greater opportunities than ever before. Let’s not miss anything God has in store for us. Prayer must be an indispensable part of moving forward.

Exploring Faith

Everyone believes something but many are without a clear understanding of why or how to substantiate it. Exploring Faith is designed for people seeking answers to serious questions about faith. This  is a safe environment where you can ask questions such as, “How do we know there is a God? What on earth am I here for? Are the outlandish claims of Jesus for real? Is the Bible reliable? Why is there evil, pain and suffering?” Your questions will form the content for this 6 weeks of exploration.

This will be a great time to invite and bring one of  the unchurched friends you have been praying for. We will begin on Wednesday, January 23, at 6:30 PM. Children will have the opportunity of being in Awana at the same time. Register now!

Year-End Giving

We are grateful for our newly renovated auditorium. Through your faithful giving we have been renovate the preschool, children and student areas plus the auditorium--all without debt. Amazing!!! We have a lot more work to do in the building in addition to expanding the parking lot. Your year-end giving is extremely important to our continued expansion. Take a moment and check your record of giving this year. This is a great time to catch up on the times you may have missed and all 2018 contributions must be postmarked or delivered to the church office by 12/31. It will be very helpful as we launch into a new ministry year. Click here to give online.

It is mostly complete. But, much more is to be done, the least is This has been a great year of generosity at Briarcliff.

Briarcliff Students

Wednesday January 9th Briarcliff Students will begin to meet each Wednesday at the Director of Student Ministries, Nate Le Blanc’s, home from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM. To begin 2019 Briarcliff Students will be switching formats to be more relationship focused, which we believe is best done in a Small Group setting that takes place in a home. Our first series of the year will be “Why Jesus?” We will go in depth on what it means to have a meaningful relationship with Jesus and how it looks much different than just a best friend. Click here to get more information.

On January 4th the Director of Student Ministries is opening his home for an all-night hang out with the students. They  will be playing video games, board games, ping-pong, watch movies, and have a nerf gun fight. The night will begin at 6:30 PM with pizza and will end January 5th at 9:00 AM with breakfast. Students will need to bring their own nerf guns, sleeping bags, air mattresses, and toiletries. There will be no cost. Click here to register!
